The Hazara people have a history of resilience, perseverance, and unwavering spirit in the face of enduring discrimination and persecution. Unfortunately, they have faced systemic marginalisation and violence throughout the centuries, despite no fault of their own. The roots of Hazara discrimination can be traced back to deep-seated ethnic and cultural prejudices that have plagued the region. Despite their diverse heritage, the Hazaras have often been labelled as outsiders or "other" due to their distinct physical features, cultural practices, and historical origins.

Hazara discrimination has affected the community on multiple fronts, including economic, social, and political spheres. They have been subjected to systemic inequalities, and limited access to education, employment opportunities, and basic services. Their rights, aspirations, and voices have been suppressed and ignored.

The Hazara people have endured tragic episodes of violence throughout history, including mass killings, forced displacements, and targeted attacks. The devastating Hazara massacres of the late 19th century, orchestrated by oppressive regimes, left an indelible mark on the community, perpetuating a cycle of discrimination and suffering.

Despite these challenges, the Hazara people have shown remarkable resilience and determination. They have formed tight-knit communities, preserved their rich cultural heritage, and advocated for their rights against the odds. The Hazara community has contributed significantly to the regions they inhabit, excelling in various fields, including arts, literature, sports, and education, defying the oppressive narrative that has sought to diminish their worth.

It is crucial to recognise the injustice inflicted upon the Hazara people and stand in solidarity with them. Efforts to address discrimination and create a more inclusive society must prioritise dismantling the barriers that perpetuate prejudice and ensuring equal opportunities for all. The Hazara people deserve the right to live with dignity, free from discrimination and violence. Their history serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for justice and the urgent need for collective action to challenge and overcome the forces of discrimination that have plagued their journey.
